Reset between uses — running the chronograph 24/7 wears the gears. After resetting, the seconds hand should snap to 12. If it's off, ask a watchmaker for a re-zero. Long-term Service chronographs every 5 years, not 7 — they have more wear surfaces. If the chronograph engages with a grind, the column wheel or cam is dirty. Service.
