Dealing With Condensation

Fog under the crystal = water vapour inside the case. Even tiny amounts will rust the movement within weeks.

Within the first hour

1. Remove from wrist immediately.
2. Wipe externally with a dry microfibre.
3. Pull the crown out one position to vent.
4. Place watch in rice or silica gel in a sealed container.

Within 24 hours

• If fog persists, take it to a watchmaker for a pressure test.
• Don't wear it. Don't open the caseback yourself.

Causes

• Cracked crystal (often invisible hairlines).
• Worn crown gasket.
• Operating chronograph pushers underwater.
