Carlo Crocco founded Hublot in 1980 with one radical idea: a gold case on a rubber strap. The watch world laughed. Royal families bought it.
In 2004 Jean-Claude Biver took over and pushed "fusion" further: King Gold + ceramic, magic gold + carbon, sapphire cases on rubber. The Big Bang (2005) was the breakout — 1 million units sold within a decade.
LVMH bought Hublot in 2008 for ~CHF 500M. Today Hublot is one of LVMH's top three watch brands by revenue, alongside TAG Heuer and Zenith.
