Charging sources, ranked

1. UV LED torch (395nm) — peaks lume in 30 seconds. Brightest stay.
2. Direct sunlight — 3–5 minutes saturates fully.
3. Halogen bulb — 5–10 minutes, decent charge.
4. Standard LED room light — 30+ minutes for partial charge.
5. Phone torch — barely charges lume; mostly white-LED with no UV.

Common mistakes

• Charging through window glass — most glass blocks UV.
• Charging in cold (<10°C) — lume absorbs poorly.
• Expecting 12-hour glow — most LumiNova runs out by 4–6 hours.

For night use, recharge just before bed with a UV torch.
